Jaigarh Heritage Festival — December
Perched on the Cheel ka Teela, the Hill of Eagles, Jaigarh Fort has watched over Jaipur since the 11th century. It was the military nerve centre of the Kachwaha dynasty, home to the world’s largest cannon on wheels and centuries of royal history. Today, for a few December days, it becomes something else entirely: a living stage where that history is celebrated, debated, and reimagined.
The Jaigarh Heritage Festival, produced by Teamwork Arts in partnership with Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, brings together musicians, artisans, scholars, and storytellers against the backdrop of one of Rajasthan’s most extraordinary forts. Folk musicians and classical performers share space with master craftspeople demonstrating block printing, lac bangle-making, and embroidery. Heritage walks through the fort’s ramparts and courtyards offer a rare, unhurried encounter with its architecture and history. Panel conversations and storytelling sessions explore the living cultures of Rajasthan and South Asia, making the festival as much an intellectual gathering as a cultural one.
The 2026 edition carries additional significance, marking the beginning of Jaipur’s tricentenary commemorations as the city prepares to celebrate 300 years in 2027.
