Traveling to a new country can sometimes be a hectic experience, what with the different requirements for travel documents and permissions. We are making the process simple for you with this step by step guide on how and where to apply for a Bhutan visa.

All foreign nationals entering Bhutan are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport with a valid visa. All foreigners except for nationals of India, Bangladesh and Maldives, need a visa to enter Bhutan.

Please note that foreign tourists must use one of their international partners to pre-arrange their visa and book their holiday. If you book a tour with Creative Travel, we take care of the entire visa formalities. Just follow the steps below.

All visa rules and regulations and border openings are subject to change by the authorities. We will inform you of any changes at the time of processing the reservations.

THE PROCESS

Step 1 :

Email us a coloured scan or photo (JPEG/PDF) of the first page of your passport, ensuring your face and passport number are visible.

Step 2 :

The Tourism Council of Bhutan requires full payment of your tour before issuing visa; these payments are built into the cost of our tours.

Step 3 :

We share proof of payment forward, following which the visa clearance is processed within 72 working hours; the same will be forwarded to you.

Step 4 :

At the time of entry, show your visa clearance letter and the visa will then be stamped into your passport.
