Our tours to Tibet enter from Nepal, where there is a facility for international travellers to obtain a Tibet Group Visa from the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu. A Tibet Group Visa is compulsory for all tourists entering Tibet from Nepal, even if you have a Chinese visa.

Travellers are recommended not to apply for an individual Chinese visa in their country if they decide to enter Tibet from Nepal, because when they apply for a group visa for entering Tibet, the Chinese embassy will cancel the individual Chinese visa.

Please note that a mandatory 3-night stay is necessary in Kathmandu to process the visa. Our journeys provide for the same. The embassy remains closed during the Chinese New Year and other Nepalese and Chinese Gazetted holidays.

All visa rules and regulations and border openings are subject to change by the authorities. We will inform you of any changes at the time of processing the reservations.
