Sri Lanka A Little Island with a Big Heart

Day 1 Kalpitiya
Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Arrive at Katunayake Airport and transfer to Kalpitiya. Known for its pristine natural environment, Kalpitiya is made up of 14 islands and is emerging as a unique coastal destination.

Day 2 Kalpitiya to Sigiriya / Habarana
Early morning departure with a packed breakfast for a jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park.

Continue to Sigiriya or Habarana. En route, stop at Hiriwaduna village for a local experience including a bullock cart ride, catamaran ride and traditional meal.

Day 3 Sigiriya / Habarana
Early morning visit to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated landmarks.

In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari in Minneriya, Kaudulla or Eco Park, known for large elephant herds.

Day 4 Sigiriya / Habarana to Passikudah
After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.

Continue to Passikudah, famed for its calm beaches, fresh seafood and relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5 Passikudah
Day at leisure to relax by the beach or enjoy your resort.

Day 6 Passikudah to Kandy
Travel inland towards Kandy. En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a spice garden in Matale.

On arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Palace, followed by a cultural performance.

Day 7 Kandy to Galle
Drive to Galle. In the afternoon, explore the historic Galle Fort. Evening at leisure.

Day 8 Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a guided walk through Colombo’s old city with a local host. Later, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

This journey includes 7 nights’ accommodation on a room + breakfast basis; all transfers, inter-city journeys, tours and excursions by air-conditioned private car with English-speaking chauffeur-guide (other languages available at a supplement); and all applicable taxes and monument entrance fees.
