Be Our Guest / Royal Rajasthan

Royal Rajasthan

Rajasthan is the jewel in India’s crown. Its massive forts rise from hilltops, their battle-scarred ramparts still standing guard over centuries of history. Spiked gates once held war elephants at bay, opening into palaces where austere exteriors give way to fantasy and opulence, with carved stone, marble halls, fountains and coloured glass.

Known as the Land of Kings, Rajasthan is home to the proud Rajputs, whose chivalrous heritage shaped magnificent palaces and forts, many now transformed into museums and hotels. The patronage of the maharajas also nurtured fine arts and handicrafts, while village life remains rooted in tradition, even as modern life steadily finds its way in.
