Kerala God’s own country
For many travellers, Kerala is South India’s most serenely beautiful state. Its slender coastal strip unfolds through layered landscapes, with Arabian Sea beaches, glistening backwaters, and the spice- and tea-covered hills of the Western Ghats. Simply arriving here slows the pace, replacing frenzy with calm.
Beyond its famed houseboats, Ayurvedic traditions and delicately spiced cuisine, Kerala is home to wild elephants, exotic birdlife and rich cultural expressions, from Kathakali performances and temple festivals to vibrant village life. It is easy to see why it is known as God’s Own Country.
