																aircraft on 
																lease. The 
																carrier charged 
																Re 1 for the 
																first flight. It 
																plans to keep 
																the tariff at Rs 
																999 for the 
																first three 
																months. 
																 
																The first flight 
																took off from 
																Coimbatore 
																Airport at 7.30 
																a.m. and landed 
																at Chennai 
																airport around 9 
																a.m. On the 
																first day, its 
																flight route is 
																Coimbatore-Chennai-Madurai-Chennai-Coimbatore. 
																 
																The airline will 
																have daily 
																service for 10 
																sectors 
																including 3 
																daily flights 
																from Chennai to 
																Coimbatore (up 
																and down) and 
																two daily 
																flights from 
																Chennai to 
																Madurai (up and 
																down). 
																 
																The 70-seater 
																aircraft are 
																more economical 
																for short haul 
																services and 
																they are proven 
																one in India,

																The promoter CMC 
																group plans to 
																infuse around 
																$12-15 million 
																(of which $5 
																million already 
																invested)

																arrivals between 
																countries, and 
																therefore from 
																August 15, the 
																flag carrier 
																will be 
																inaugurating 
																thrice-a-week 
																flights 
																connecting 
																Ahmedabad and 
																London. By May 
																2017, Air India 
																also aims to 
																launch a fifth 
																air route 
																between India 
																and the United 
																States of 
																America (USA). 
																On all flights 
																from India to 
																USA, the carrier 
																has witnessed 
																80% load factor 
																last year, he 
																stated. 
																 
																“There is a 
																demand to 
																directly connect 
																Delhi or Mumbai 
																to Los Angeles 
																and also to 
																Atlanta. We are 
																yet to finalise 
																the same. Post 
																Delhi-San 
																Francisco 
																flight, Air 
																India is also 
																looking at the 
																possibility of 
																commencing 
																flights from 
																Bengaluru to San 
																Francisco in the 
																coming time. 
																Connection to 
																Washington has 
																been postponed 
																due to the 
																shortage of 
																aircraft. the 
																same could 
																commence in 
																2017-18,” he

																He also informed 
																that as of now 
																Air India is 
																providing 8.5 
																lakh seats to 
																travel to the 
																U.S. witnessing 
																82-83% load 
																factor. This 
																market can 
																further grow to 
																12 lakh by next 
																year. The 
																company also 
																plans to launch 
																new flights 
																between US and 
																Hyderabad. 
																 
																On the domestic 
																front, the 
																carrier would be 
																adding 40 
																aircraft in the 
																next two years 
																to connect 
																Tier-II and III 
																cities, stated 
																Lohani. The 
																carrier aims to 
																regain its glory 
																and the 
																progressive 
																National Civil 
																Aviation Policy 
																(NCAP) 2016 is 
																ought to pave 
																the way for 
																future growth,

																in Dubai at 
																18:20 hrs. The 
																return flight 
																will depart from 
																Dubai at 06:05 
																hrs and arrive 
																in Chandigarh at
