High in the mountains of Ladakh, the courtyard of Hemis Monastery comes alive today and tomorrow as the Hemis Festival unfolds.

Monks in elaborate masks perform the Cham dance, a tradition believed to mark the victory of good over evil, set to the sound of drums, cymbals and long Tibetan horns. The festival honours the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, the eighth-century master credited with carrying Buddhism across the Himalayas, including Bhutan, where he is still revered today.

Our team brought that idea straight to our workstations, with a chair yoga session designed to fit into the workday itself. No mats, no separate space, just simple stretches, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques done right at our desks.

For those of us seated for hours at a stretch, this kind of movement eases stiffness, improves posture and clears mental fog that builds up over the day.

The Mirror Wall at this ancient Sri Lankan fortress was polished to such a fine finish that it once reflected the images of those who passed by. Over six centuries, it became something no one planned for: a place where visitors stopped to write down what they felt. Poems, observations, declarations of love, and simple records of being there. Over 1,800 inscriptions in total.
