Ladakh: Land of Dragons

Ladakh is one of India’s most visually dramatic destinations, with a vast high-altitude desert set between the Karakoram and Greater Himalayan ranges. At 3,500 metres, Leh sits amid stark landscapes, snow-capped peaks and deep blue skies. Predominantly Buddhist, the region’s monasteries and traditions offer a rare insight into an ancient way of life.

Shaped by its extreme altitude and isolation, Ladakh follows a slower rhythm of life. Seasonal passes dictate movement, agriculture is closely tied to the short summer months, and communities have long adapted to the demands of this rugged terrain. From ancient trade routes that once linked Central Asia to the Indian subcontinent to today’s quiet villages scattered across the valleys, Ladakh reveals a culture forged by resilience, self-sufficiency and a profound connection to the land.

Day 1 Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your airport hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Delhi-Leh
Early morning transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight to Leh.

On arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure for acclimatisation.

Day 3 Leh
After breakfast, enjoy a guided heritage walk through the Old Town, visiting the Central Asian Museum, Munshi House, Leh Palace, Tsemo Namgyal and Thiksey Monastery.

Day 4 Leh / Sham Valley
After breakfast, drive to Sham Valley. Visit Lamayuru Monastery, followed by the UNESCO-listed Basgo Monastery.

Continue to Namgyal Tsemo Temple and Basgo Palace.

Day 5 Leh / Pangong Lake
Early morning departure for a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake, the world’s highest saltwater lake.

Day 6 Leh
A day dedicated to Ladakh’s local art and cuisine. Visit the Stok Palace Museum and Chokhang Vihara Monastery.

Day 7 Leh-Delhi
After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your flight to Delhi.

On arrival, transfer to your airport hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 8 Departure
In time, transfer to Delhi International Airport for your onward flight.
