New - "Personally Experienced"

Been There.....Seen it.....Experienced it.....Loved it.....

"Shiv Vilas, Jaipur"

Visited in July, 2007
by Dimple Singh for Team Creative

The objective of this section is to share some first hand experiences of Team Creative members of any hotel, restaurants or attraction. Brochures and web sites only tell so much and we hope our first-hand experiences will add some value to your product planning process.

Every year Creative Travel takes Team Creative & their family members for a weekend and this July, 2007 our team decided to visit Jaipur and Shiv Vilas team was kind enough to invite all of us to Jaipur and spend a couple of nights at Shiv Vilas.

Jaipur is located around 250 kms from Delhi (south west), at a driving distance of around 4 hours.

Jaipur - "the abode of rajahs" - was once the capital of Rajasthan province, everywhere you will see the monuments of its Rajput rulers. Jaipur is one of the main centers for shopping in India -- especially with regard to textiles, jewellery, stones carpets, etc.

Jaipur - also popularly known as the Pink City, historically sometimes rendered as Jeypore, is the capital of Rajasthan state, India. Jaipur is the former capital of the princely state of Jaipur. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, Jaipur was the first planned city in India and in 2003, after only 276 years, the population reached approximately 2.7 million.

Jaipur is named after its founder the warrior and astronomer sovereign Sawai Jai Singh II (ruled 1688 to 1744).

The Shiv Vilas resort, which is just 15 kms, 30 minute drive from the heart of the city is a palatial resort. Designed by Mr. Moulenaux and landscaped by Ms. Maria, both from a leading Architect & interior design house in Paris.

Adding to the beauty is the magnificent atrium lobby which exudes sheer grandeur and the hotel’s interior are a fusion of the traditional Indian, Munhall & Victorian Architecture. The hotel offers 78 rooms including 16 suites, which are distinctive in style & character. The rooms offer a brilliant view of the picturesque Aravali Hills.

The hotel offers several dining options. They also host conference, meetings & other theme evenings in true royal style. The other facilities include a spa and a health club.

During our stay a friendly cricket match between the hotel team, lead by the General Manager, Mr. Puri and Team Creative was organized at the Private Helipad area under the flood lights and as a true guest, we obliged them by loosing by 10 runs.

Team’s overall experience at Shiv Vilas was very positive and we would certainly recommend it without any hesitation. Creative enjoys great pricing at Shiv Vilas and would certainly say “great value for money”. We would give Shiv Vilas thumbs up for friendly staff, excellent service & a great product. Below are few images taken by the team during their stay.
