International Airport renamed as Kempegowda
International Airport The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) recently organized a celebration at the airport to announce the renaming ceremony from Bengaluru International Airport to Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru and the inauguration of its terminal elevated in design, exteriors, facilities and infrastructure. The event was presided over by Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah and Chief Guest Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ajit Singh along with other dignitaries from the state. As the founding father of the city and an icon for citizens, Kempegowda laid the stage for the development of the entire region. Kempegowda planned and build the city of Bangalore and is noted for his societal reforms and contribution in building temples and water reservoirs in Bangalore. The airport’s new name honors the founding father of the city. "The terminal is at par with the best in the world in terms of conveniences, with double the existing area, facilities to host some of the largest aircrafts, and world-class technologies. The new infrastructure is built on the existing facility’s efficient and passenger-friendly design, while incorporating elements of the region that it serves. It reflects the vision of GVK BIAL in creating a destination that represents the varied cultural, ethos and artistic elements of South India. We are looking forward to have another terminal for Bangalore by 2032," he added. |
