Travelling to a new country can sometimes be a hectic experience, what with the different requirements for travel documents and permissions. We are making the process simple for you with this step by step guide on how and where to apply for an Indian visa.

All foreign nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport with a valid visa. All foreigners except for nationals of Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives, need a visa to enter India.

The Indian government has made this process hassle free by introducing the evisa, which can be applied through an online application form. There are certain types of visas which still need to be applied for at your local Indian Embassy/ High Commission. But for most tourists / causal business visitors, just follow the steps.

You have the option of either applying at your local Indian diplomatic mission or through the online application process as stated below.

Please note that there are several websites online which claim to be the official visa application page or claim to facilitate the Indian visa process. The below link is the only official and valid link for the Indian e-visa. You don’t need to go through any other site or merchant. They are not authorised and they overcharge.

All visa rules and regulations and border openings are subject to change by the authorities. We will inform you of any changes at the time of processing the reservations.
