Lufthansa introduced Premium Economy Class in India from 22/11/2014

Lufthansa has announced that the global roll-out of its Premium Economy Class will happen nine days earlier than planned. The new travel class will be available from tomorrow for the first time on all routes flown by a Boeing 747-8, including Bengaluru, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Peking, Sao Paolo, Seoul, Tokyo-Haneda, and Washington D.C. Bengaluru becomes the first city in India to welcome Lufthansa's new Premium Economy offering, as per a release.

The new Premium Economy Class comes with great on-board as well as on-ground benefits including 50 per cent extra legroom, as compared to the Economy Class.

Wolfgang Will, Director, South Asia, Lufthansa, said, "We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Premium Economy offering in India. The roll-out of the new travel class in India (Bengaluru) at the same time as the global launch of the product clearly demonstrates the importance of India as a market for Lufthansa and underlines our commitment to provide Indian customers with the best Lufthansa experience worldwide. The new Premium Economy offering will be ideal for leisure travellers with higher budget and for business travellers with constrained budgets. The new Premium Economy comes with great on-board as well as on-ground benefits. Currently, the new Premium Economy is available on the Frankfurt-Bengaluru route on the B747-8 aircraft and we expect it to be available on all long-haul routes in India in 2015."
