Devshree – Rajasthan Devshree lies on the edge of the lovely village of Deograh, in the Aravalli Hills. It has a glorious position and is almost equidistant between Jodhpur and Udaipur so it makes the most ideal break in a hectic, city based itinerary. Surrounded by stunning granite hills, lakes and woodland, the utterly charming owners have created an incredibly warm, inviting, ‘home’ with immense style, taste and character. Built in the traditional ‘haveli’ style, with deep verandhas, verdant lawns and pretty courtyards, it has many Rajput influences. The interiors are large and airy with lofty ceilings, and the décor is Rajasthani but with a contemporary twist. Everything here is of the highest quality and the workmanship is admirable and outstanding- the love and care that has gone into the creation of Dev Shree is obvious wherever one looks. The surrounding area is heaven for walking or taking jeep trip- picnicking by lakes, watching the birds whilst sipping a chilled beer in a truly beautiful spot is just the best. Not to mention a walk through the village of Deogarh which is a must – one of the cleanest, most friendly villages in Rajasthan and a rare find.
