Aerial joy ride begins to boost tourism

Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria flagged off a chopper carrying a group of people, from Dabok airport on Tuesday, marking the commencement of aerial joyrides in the city. The move is seen as a significant step to boost tourism in the state as Udaipur is the second most-sought-after tourist destination after Jaipur. The flyers enjoyed the 15-minute joy ride during which they had a glimpse of the picturesque environs of the lake city.

“Tourist would get to see more than 12 spots from above a height of one thousand feet in the sky” said Girish Rawal of Mewar Helicopter service, the company which has been given license to run the project. Tourists can enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Fatehsagar, Pichhola lake, Udaisagar, Neemuch Mata hills, Sajjangarh, City Palace, Karni Mata temple, Doodh Talai, Shilpgram, Nehru Garden, Swaroop Sagar during the ride which would cover some 50 kilometers in fifteen minutes.
